Visit to the Severn Valley Railway
19th June 2010 (Provisional)
The association is planning a ‘Rail Cruise’ trip on Saturday 19th June 2010 on the Severn Valley Railway. Starting from Kidderminster we will depart at 7pm. On the train we can enjoy the bar and are able to order Fish and Chips (or Chicken and Chips), which will be delivered to us at Bridgenorth Station. We will have about an hour at Bridgenorth, where we can enjoy our chips and the station bar, before the train returns to Kidderminster arriving at about 10.15pm. As this is June it will be daylight throughout the trip so we will be able to take in the panoramic views of the Severn Valley through the large carriage windows during the entire trip.
We shall be travelling in a fully restored 1960s diesel multiple unit and hope to have the exclusive use of at least 1 coach. The fare will be approximately £9, return, and that compares with the normal Severn Valley fare of £13.50. With such a low price you can afford to bring all your friends along as well!
The Rail Cruise is being organised by Jim Moss whose contact details are given in the Newsletter. Please register your interest with him so that we can see how many coaches we need to book. Further details will be given in the January newsletter. |
